Whiteshell Outfitters is a small business located in South-eastern Manitoba within the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Owner and operator Mike Adey has guided since 1981 and specializes in archery.

Mike prides himself on his ability to deliver you an all-inclusive (except alcohol) Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, or Timber Wolf hunt that leaves you begging for more.

Our goal is to put you where trophy Deer, Bear, and Wolf roam. All while making your wilderness stay in Manitoba enjoyable and memorable.

In the Whiteshell Provincial Park prairie meets lakes, rivers, swamps, rock ridges and forests. The vast terrain, numerous food sources, and low hunting pressure enable large bear, deer, and wolf to thrive. Our hunts are fair chase and the animals are free to travel in the one million acres we operate in. Not only are we located in the center of prime hunting grounds, we are situated in a region that is perfect for family trips.

"Whiteshell Outfitters - First Class Operation"

I have hunted with Whiteshell Outfitters (Mike Aday) three times and each time I have had opportunities to take bear with my bow. I have enjoyed each of my trips and Mike really puts on a good camp (good food and accommodations) and he really makes the people comfortable with him and each other. The sleeping accommodations are in clean and well provisioned cabins. Coffee is always on and the food is hot and tasty.

We have access to fishing boats and stayed right on the lake so we could fish as the spirit moved us. When you are not fishing Mike makes an archery broadhead target available to the hunters to keep up practice. And did I mention the food, no chance of going hungry there!

Mike is all about the hunt and insuring that hunters get a chance to see animals. Mike is an archer so he knows what an archer is looking for in positioning. Mike places stands in the best position for archery but he also rifle hunts so he manages that as well. This past year (2013) my brother and I hunted with Mike. My brother is a gun hunter, so Mike made sure that he had stands that would work well for him.

Another thing that is sure to please the outdoors-person, is the trip to Crow Duck Lake. You take a road trip to a boat then a jeep trail to the lodge to get to your fishing boat. This lake is amazing, plenty of fish and action....I even catch fish there!

I have hunted bear with a couple other outfitters. They did a decent job but they did not compare to the camp that Mike runs. When it is all said and done, my next bear trip will be with Mike.
Room Tip: You maybe sharing a room with someone, so bring some ear plugs in case they snore!

Spring and Fall 2007 Spring Bear Hunt +

I hunted with WhiteShell Outfitters twice in 2007 (Spring and Fall) and have booked a hunt for this Spring as well. Mike Aday runs a first class Bear camp and works hard to make sure that the hunter is well taken care of. Mike includes everything you need to insure a good hunt (you have to bring your own clothes and gear), including pratice targets, stands and all transportation.

Deer and Bear hunts +

So far, I have been on 5 deer hunts and 3 bear hunts with Mike. That in itself should tell you that I think Mike runs a top shelf operation. What separates Mike from many other Outfitters is his demeanor. Mike is a very positive person who always is trying to make your hunt the best it can be. I have left camp several times without filling my tag, but I've never not enjoyed my time with Mike and the guys at Whiteshell Outfitters

Best bear camp in Canada +

An amazing trip with Whiteshell Outfitters. Took a 7 1/2 ft black bear. Food,accommodations were excellent. And add the fishing, and this place can't be beat!! This is a hunting camp I will keep coming back to year after year. Mike Adey is one of the most knowledgeable outfitters I have ever met.

This is the place! +

Just returned from a week of bear hunting with Mike Adey and guides Billy and Darrell. My brother and I hunted Week 1. We had a great experience. The weather was a bit unsettled, but the final 3 days were perfect. The country is beautiful. The fishing was slow, mostly due to cool temps, but we caught enough Northerns to keep us interested. On Wednesday evening I saw the first bear, then killed him with my bow the following evening. Although my shot was good, the blood trail was scant. Thanks to the tracking talent of Mike and the guides, we found the bear the next morning. By the end of the week, our party of 6 had taken 5 bears and everybody had an opportunity. Cabins were comfortable and the meals were great.

Another great trip to bear country! +

Mike Adey runs a quality outfit for Manitoba Black Bear over bait. He and his guides (Darrel and Bill) will go farther (literally) than anyone else to recover your trophy. Once you harvest your bear, all you have to do is sit back, relax and fish for walleye, northerns, and bass in the lake (which is right outside your door). The cabins that you'll be staying in are anywhere from 15 minutes to a half-hour from the bait-sites and the stands and sites are very well maintained. Bow and gun-hunters are welcome but, because Mike is a bow-hunter himself, bow hunters will be especially pleased with the set up. The food isn't extravagant (nor should it be) but it is filling, hot, and tasty. You do stand a chance of seeing and taking a serious trophy bear here (#1 P&Y Bear in 2010) as well as a color-phase. Mike is a welcoming host who really goes all-out to make sure that his hunters are successful before and after the shot. Highly recommended!

Spring Bear 2013 +

What a wonderful guided hunt. Knowledgable guides, true service. Mike went out of way to provide a great hunt for all. The fishing was good. I really enjoyed the trip to Crow Duck Lake.

Deer and Bear hunts +

I first had the pleasure of meeting Mike at the Suffern Sportmen's Show and I am very glad that I did. Since then I have hunted two Deer hunts and a spring Bear hunt and was very sucessful but most of all had a great time on all the hunts . Mike and his staff are great .
